Philips India appoints V Raja as new Vice-Chairman and MD

He will take over from A Krishna Kumar, who moved to a new role effective from September 1 as Head of the Emerging Businesses Group for Philips globally and is based in Netherlands.

Consumer durables maker Philips India today said it has appointed V Raja as the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director with effect from December 1. In his new role, Raja will be responsible for driving and building the Healthcare and Consumer Lifestyle businesses for Philips in India, the company said in a statement. He will take over from A Krishna Kumar, who moved to a new role effective from September 1 as Head of the Emerging Businesses Group for Philips globally and is based in Netherlands.

Raja will join Philips from TE Connectivity, where he was the President of India Operations since 2011. Prior to TE Connectivity, Raja worked with GE for 14 years. "We are confident that Philips will greatly benefit from Raja's leadership and rich experience in business to consumer and business to business industries," Royal Philips Chief Market Leader Ronald de Jong said.
