Self-publishing startup Notion Press today said it has raised USD 1 million (around Rs 6.6 crore) in pre-series A funding from high networth individuals (HNIs).
The deal will help Chennai-based Notion Press consolidate market leadership, strengthen management team and expand services in the market, a company release said.
Founded in 2012 by two engineers, Naveen Valsakumar and Bhargava Adepalley, along with Jana Pillay who has a background in publishing, Notion Press is a self-publishing platform for Indian writers to publish and sell books around the world in both print and e-book formats.
The company said it has so far published works of over 2,000 authors.
"We are growing aggressively and looking to go international this year. We will be intensifying our coverage across India and fuel our operations internationally as well with these funds," Notion Press Media Co-Founder and CEO Valsakumar said.
He said the company's US operations would be launched in the middle of September and in three other countries by end of this financial year.
