HUL's Harish Manwani in race for Tata Sons chairmanship: Report

Haresh Manwani, non-executive Chairman of Hindustan Unilever and former COO of Unilever, is in the race for the top place at Tata Sons. According to a source-based piece in the Sky News, Manwani is likely to succeed Mistry to become chairman of Tata Sons.

Last month, Mistry was ousted from Tata Sons chairmanship. Ratan Tata has taken over as the group’s interim chairman for four months.

The Sky News report further said that candidate under consideration by Tata Sons are still unclear.

Rajiv Kumar, Center for Policy Research believes that Malwani seems to be a good choice, he may face difficulties in handling various sectors under Tatas’ as his experience predominantly lies in the FMCG space.
