LG has shown off the world's first transparent OLED display at the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
Called LG Signature OLED T, the smart TV has a glass display that is transparent making the images you see on screen seemingly float in the air, like faux holograms.

The TV combines transparent OLED panels with wireless audio and video transmission technology. It uses a 77-inch transparent display that LG says is "practically invisible" when turned off. The TV comes with a Zero Connect Box that can send video and audio transmissions wirelessly to the TV.

It can be stood against the wall, placed in the center or can be wall-mounted. LG says the display seamlessly blends in with the environment and the see-through screen allows it to be placed, "in the middle of the room to become a divider or prop it against the window without blocking the view outside".
When not being used to view content, the TV can showcase artwork, videos or photos with an Always-On-Display feature. It also has what LG calls a "T-Bar", that displays news alerts, weather updates or other information in a ticker running along the lower part of the screen.
The TV has LG's Alpha 11 AI processor that allows for a 70 percent increase in graphic performance, and up to 30 percent higher processing speed, compared to the previous generation.

The LG Signature OLED T will be available globally later this year but that's not all LG had in store. It also announced a smart home AI robot called Smart Home AI Agent.

It has a two-wheeled design that allows it to navigate homes freely. It can verbally interact with users and even express emotions through articulated leg joints. It has built-in multi-modal technology, meaning it can do voice and image recognition along with natural language processing.
The goal of the robot is to function as a mobile smart home hub, allowing you to control connected appliances and Internet of Things (IoT) enabled devices. It has a built-in camera, speakers and a suite of sensors that enable it to gather real-time environmental data including temperature, humidity and air quality.
LG says it can even act as a pet or a security guard, automatically patrolling homes when no one is around can act as a monitor for pets, and can send alerts if any unusual activity is detected.
