LG Electronics India has announced a new line of home appliances called the Essential Series, designed and built specifically for Indian households. The company says this range was developed after interacting with more than 1,200 families across the country to understand how people use appliances in different regions and conditions.

The Essential Series includes four main products — a double-door refrigerator, a fully automatic top-load washing machine, a room air conditioner, and a convertible oven. LG says all of them have been designed to handle local challenges such as power cuts, low water pressure, dust, and humidity. The range also focuses on keeping prices accessible for middle-class families.

The double-door refrigerator comes with frost-free technology that removes the need for manual defrosting. It automatically adjusts cooling depending on the weather and offers 20 percent more vegetable storage compared to previous LG models — a feature that may appeal to larger or vegetarian families.

The washing machine has been designed for Indian water conditions and can work even with low water pressure. It features a motor protected by a dust- and moisture-resistant cover and has a water-resistant control panel to handle humid environments.

The air conditioner in the series is aimed at users who worry about electricity costs. It comes with “Energy Manager+,” a function that allows users to track and control their energy use. It also includes a “Diet Mode+” feature that adjusts cooling intensity to save power while maintaining comfort — suitable for bedrooms or small living spaces.

The convertible oven includes preset menus for Indian dishes like paneer, ghee, and dal. It supports air fry and convection cooking, making it suitable for those who prefer healthier cooking methods but still want traditional Indian flavours.

LG Electronics India president Hong Ju Jeon said the new range reflects the company’s renewed focus on the Indian market after its recent stock market listing. “These products were created using insights from Indian families and are built to handle local conditions,” he said.

The Essential Series will be available across India from November 2025, with prices starting at around Rs 18,000. The products will be sold through LG brand stores, multi-brand retailers, and major e-commerce websites.
