I am finding the budget being friendly to farmers, small, and foreign direct investors, students, women and to entrepreneurs in food processing, infrastructure, media and retail sector. I am confident that more jobs will be created in housing, power, infrastructure, retail, food processing sectors as results of the announcements made today.
The allocation of Rs 25,555 crore for Right to Education in Fiscal Year 2013 is low. We were expecting the amount to be doubled this year, as estimated by the planning commission for the 12Five-Year plan. The Budget has also not done much for higher education, research, and skill development. There was no announcement on entry of foreign universities, for instance. This is worrying, considering the talent crunch that the industries are already dappling with.
