Banks in many cities will remain closed on Wednesday, 20th November 2024, as per the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday calendar. The closures have been announced in view of assembly elections in Maharashtra and bypolls in Uttar Pradesh.

The RBI publishes a detailed holiday schedule annually, categorising holidays under three headings: national holidays, regional holidays, and bank-specific holidays. Today's closure is limited to specific regions going to polls.

Maharashtra: Banks across the state will remain shut today due to assembly elections.

Uttar Pradesh: Banks in cities including Kanpur, where bypolls are being conducted, will also be closed.

While physical branches are closed, customers can access digital services like net banking, mobile banking, and ATMs for transactions. These platforms remain fully functional and are not impacted by regional bank holidays.

For a comprehensive list of holidays applicable to your region, the RBI provides updates on its official website. Customers can check further details by visiting RBI’s Holiday Matrix.
