Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday pledged over Rs 50,000 crore investment in Assam over the next five years.
Addressing the 2025 edition of Advantage Assam 2.0 summit in Guwahati, Mukesh Ambani said that the state was known as the ‘tea paradise’ but in coming years, Assam will be known as a technology paradise.
The RIL chairman added that the world will look at Assam as a land of growth opportunities.
Setting out the agenda for the growth roadmap, he said that Reliance will put an AI-ready centre in the state. He also said that AI will soon be known as "Assam Intelligence".

Apart from the focus on technology, Mukesh Ambani also announced retail expansion in the state.
"We will double Reliance stores in Assam to 800 from 500 in five years,” the RIL Chairman said. He also said that the conglomerate will also build two world class hubs of clean biogas in the state.
Lauding PM Modi’s role in betterment of India’s NorthEast region, Ambani said that “our greatest advantage is that we are blessed with PM's vision. PM Modi has brought Assam from the periphery to the centre of development.”
He also said that RIL will help Assam become a major supplier of food and non-food consumer products for national and international markets. “Southeast Asia and East Asia will look at Assam as a land of opportunity.
Gautam Adani, who also attended Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, also pledged Rs 50,000 crore investment in the state. "What started as a spark from Gujarat has now become a national movement," Adani said in his address.
