Ashok Leyland, on Wednesday reported an increase of 5 percent year-on-year in its total sales for February.The Hinduja Group firm sold 14,067 units last month against 13,403 units during the same period last year. Meanwhile, light commercial vehicles’ (LCVs) sales saw a rise of 5.1 percent at 2,738 units against 2,605 units in the corresponding period last year. The company sold 11,329 units of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (HCVs) against 10,798 units, an increase of 4.9 percent. The company’s scrip rose over a percent intraday, riding on these numbers. At 11:53 hrs, it was quoting at Rs 90.60, up Rs 0.05, or 0.06 percent on the BSE. It touched an intraday high of Rs 91.85 and an intraday low of Rs 90.05.
