Apple CEO Tim Cook met Sunil Mittal, the founder and chairman of Bharti Group, on April 21 and both of them reaffirmed commitment to work more closely in the India and African markets.
Apple opened its first two official stores in India during the week. Cook on April 18 inaugurated the first Store in Mumbai and the second in New Delhi on April 20.
"Tim Cook and Sunil Bharti Mittal had an hour-long meeting this morning. While expressing their satisfaction on the ongoing long relationship that Apple and Airtel have had, (they) reaffirmed their commitment to work more closely in the Indian and African market," Bharti Group said in a statement.

During his visit Cook also met Minister of State in Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar on April 19 and discussed topics including exports, job creation and 'broadening manufacturing'.

Later, the same day he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and they both discussed how Apple is committed to "growing and investing" across India.
On April 20, Cook met Union Minister for Railways, Communications, Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw and discussed deepening Apple’s engagement in the country across manufacturing, electronics exports, app economy, skilling, etc.
Apple's first retail store, Apple BKC, opened its doors to customers on April 18 in Mumbai, Maharashtra three years after it debuted its online store in the country and more than 25 years after it began operations in India.
