Maruti Suzuki on April 10 said that it has increased prices of Swift and selected variants of Grand Vitara Sigma effective today.

Prices of Swift have been raised by up to Rs 25,000 and Grand Vitara Sigma variant by Rs 19,000, the company said.

This comes after the leading automaker announced a price hike across models to the tune of 0.45 percent in January citing increased cost pressure driven by overall inflation and increased commodity prices.

At the time, Maruti had said: "We have been trying to absorb the increased input costs for a while now, but the current market conditions have compelled us to pass on some of the hikes to our customers. The price increase will be substantial in some models."

Shares of Maruti Suzuki were trading 1.49 percent lower at Rs 12,699.10 apiece on BSE during late trading hours.

Earlier, Maruti Suzuki said that it has achieved a total sales figure of 187,196 units, combining both domestic and international markets in March. Domestic sales reached 156,330 units, marking a 14 percent increase compared to March 2023. Additionally, the company sold 4,974 units to other Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and exported 25,892 units.

In the financial year 2023-24, Maruti Suzuki achieved its highest-ever total sales, reaching 2,135,323 units. This includes domestic sales of 1,793,644 units and exports totaling 283,067 units.
