Former tennis player Sania Mirza, in a candid chat with Tweak India, revealed the foods she enjoys, her exercise regimen, and her elaborate 10-step Korean skincare routine, which she said she follows both in the morning and at night. If you’re as amused as we are, read on…
You’d be surprised to know that Sania has three beverages before she moves on to the first meal of the day. She said, "I basically have a turmeric shot, which is the first thing that I do. It has turmeric, honey, lime, some black seeds, and ginger. It is not tasty, but it's very good for your body.”

This is followed by chia seeds soaked in water the night before and coffee, which is everyone’s favourite beverage. She revealed, “I don’t really eat anything, and I leave the house to drop my son at school and go to the gym.”
Eggs have always been a part of her breakfast. However, what has shifted for her post retirement is the amount of carbohydrates she consumes. “Earlier, it was a very carb and protein-heavy meal including idlis and dosas. Now it's just more protein-heavy because the level of activity is just about 20 per cent of what I used to do.”
Sania said, “In the morning, I will have 3-4 eggs, which are mostly all white except one egg yolk. For lunch, I ensure I have 150 gm of protein. I am more conscious about my protein intake now than before. Earlier I had nutritionists taking care of everything.”
The former tennis champion also confessed she is a big foodie and loves all kinds of food, especially Hyderabadi Paya Nihari at breakfast.
Sania loves mixing things up once in a while. She said, “I do a lot of weights. I used to do pilates, which I stopped, due to time constraints. But now I run 5-7 km outside, as the weather is nice.”

Sania shared she follows a 10-step routine in the morning and at night. And what remains steady are two products that have really helped her skin. “I do a lot of Korean skincare. It is a 10-step routine in the morning and at night. A good moisturiser and sunscreen has really made my skin better over the past few years.”
Additionally, she said, “I’ve started doing red light therapy over the last year. Not just for my skin, but for my hair as well. Every other day, I sit under it for about half an hour, and I feel it really rejuvenates the skin.”
