Heeramandi star Fardeen Khan opened up about his reasons for losing weight and choosing sobriety over alcohol in a recent podcast with Cyrus Broacha. He explained how his desire to return to work and reclaim his health required drastically changing his lifestyle.

In a candid conversation, the actor revealed, “I was pretty much clear that I wanted to get back to work, but I didn’t know where to start or what lay ahead. I knew I had to get into a certain shape and look my best.”

Talking about his weight loss, he shared, “I was 102–103 at my heaviest. Not muscle. Just good old body fat… As of last week, I’m about 78–79 now.” He shed around 25 kilos, beginning with a commitment to “reclaiming his health,” which included quitting alcohol. He said, “The thought wasn’t about transforming. I was at an age where I just didn’t feel like myself.”

“I was sober in the early 2020s. That’s when I kicked the habit completely during the COVID-19 lockdown. I stopped in one go. It had come to a point where it was interfering with my life. I sought professional help to stop, and it was probably the best decision I ever made. I started drinking very young. For the first time, the brain fog cleared,” he said.

Fardeen also confessed that drinking no longer gave him joy and made him feel like a 60-year-old. However, coming to terms with life without addiction was a tough journey. It took time, but the actor now shares that being clean and sober has made him happier than ever.
