Bhumi Pednekar has been a part of showbiz long enough to know what works for her and what doesn’t, especially when it comes to her appearance. On Soha Ali Khan’s podcast, she opened up about her journey with food and exercise, and clarified that she has never used Ozempic to lose weight, unlike what’s claimed by others.

Bhumi, who lost a lot of weight, clarified that people assume it is impossible to shed weight without injectables. But her story was different, as she had fallen sick in November 2023.

“Basically, for a character, I lost a lot of weight. I was in the hospital recovering from dengue. I lost 12 kg and half of my hair. My hair is still growing. The pain you go through is unmatched. It was Diwali and people were bursting crackers, while I had a splitting headache until I reached the hospital,” she revealed.

And the world has not been kind either. She said, “People have even asked me if I’ve had a rib removed. What about the fact that I’ve put 10 years into working out and eating right? In Delhi, women straight up come and ask me, ‘Aapne bhi Ozempic ya Mounjaro liya hai?’”

Bhumi continued, “To each their own. I know enough people who have taken Ozempic, but they genuinely needed that medical assistance, so I will never judge anyone for it. Your body, your choice. I am nobody to say anything. But the fact is that I lost 40 kg and more without injectables.”

The actress, who started her career with Dum Laga Ke Haisha, shared that she was too hard on herself when she began and worked out every day. But today, she enjoys a healthy relationship with food, exercise, and recovery.

“My relationship with the gym and my body has changed over the years, and I feel I am in a good space with my body, which has taken so much work. I enjoy food. Again, my relationship with food is now different, but I have enough clarity about it.” She also added that she doesn’t follow intermittent fasting but has two meals a day, which include either breakfast or lunch and dinner.
