Staying in shape as we age is a tough job, but it seems there are some who are doing it well. A 73-year-old man shared his fitness secrets with coach Mark Langowski, revealing how he manages to stay in shape and maintain his strength. His words have left the internet both amused and inspired.
Mark shared the post recently on Instagram, where the man in question didn’t hesitate to flaunt his six-pack abs with pride. He also acknowledged that many people think he’s taken a shortcut for it, but his physique is a result of immense dedication.
“A lot of people accuse me of being on TRT (testosterone replacement therapy), but I never did it, and I won’t do it,” he said. And when he was asked how he remains fit, he replied, “One day I do 100 push-ups in between 100 pull-ups, that’s my standard.” Quizzed about the frequency, and he revealed he does it every other day.
While weight loss is one thing, staying ripped is another. Diet, of course, plays an important role in the process. For the 73-year-old, it is no different. He shared he has “very few carbs,” which is the key to his six-pack abs. What does he focus on? “The only thing I take is whey protein, collagen, and creatine.”
It is easy to assume that for those who stay this fit, alcohol must be a big no. But the man confessed he drinks one or two glasses every day. “I’m a red wine snob unless I’m fasting, which I do at least once a month.” He added, “I just had my body fat tested. I think I was eight and a half percent.”
In the video posted on Mark’s social media account, the man also managed to do 35 pull-ups, exceeding the target of 30, a feat most young adults would also find difficult to achieve.
The internet was all praise, as one user wrote, “This guy is the goal for every man. 73 w/a 6-Pack and 36 pull-ups. Most men of any age have neither of those.” Another said, “Dude is impressive. Also, his dieting: low carb + fasting some days + red wine + collagen.” A third commented, “I feel embarrassed now…this guy totally rules.”
