Meta is rolling out a set of new artificial intelligence features for Facebook Marketplace, aimed at making it easier for sellers to manage listings and respond to potential buyers.

Among the updates is an AI-powered auto-reply system that can draft responses to buyer inquiries. When someone asks about an item’s availability, sellers can now let Meta AI automatically generate replies based on details already included in the listing, such as price, pickup location, item description and availability.

Sellers will still have control over the responses. They can preview, edit or disable the automated replies during the listing creation process.

The feature addresses one of the most common frustrations for Marketplace sellers: handling repetitive questions from buyers. Messages asking whether an item is available are particularly frequent, even when listings clearly show that information.

Meta is also using AI to help sellers create listings faster. After uploading a photo of an item, Meta AI can automatically generate a draft listing, fill in product details and even suggest a price based on similar items listed nearby.

In addition to listing tools, buyers will now see a summary of a seller’s Facebook profile at the top of their Marketplace page. The summary highlights information such as how long the seller has been on Facebook, their number of friends and their Marketplace activity, including past listings and seller ratings.

The company is also expanding shipping capabilities on Marketplace. Sellers can now choose to offer shipping for their items, generate prepaid shipping labels and track orders through a dedicated dashboard.

Meta says the new tools are designed to help sellers reach a wider audience and streamline the selling process.

The latest additions build on existing Meta AI integrations within Marketplace. These include tools that help buyers ask relevant questions when purchasing items and AI-powered insights for vehicle listings.
