As Salman Khan celebrates his 60th birthday today, an old revelation by the superstar has once again caught public attention. Years before this milestone, Salman had casually spoken about his unusual sleeping habit during an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show. The clip from that episode has resurfaced, reminding fans that even the biggest stars have habits that are surprisingly ordinary and relatable.

Salman had appeared on the show as both a guest and the producer of that season. The episode was packed with humour, banter, and candid moments, but one particular conversation stood out. Host Kapil Sharma asked Salman a simple question about sleep. He wanted to know how long it takes Salman to fall asleep once he goes to bed. What followed was a revelation that left everyone amused.

Salman replied that he does not get sleep on a bed at all. No matter how tired he is, the moment he lies down on a bed, sleep refuses to come. He explained that the second his head touches a pillow on a bed, he becomes alert instead of sleepy. However, the situation changes completely when he lies down on a sofa. As soon as he rests his head on a cushion, he falls asleep almost instantly.

"Main bed par sota he nahi hu, Mujhe neend he nahi aati. Main couch ya sofa par sota hu. Jaise he takiya rakhta hu neend chali jati hai. Phir main news dekhta hu, TV dekhta hu phir couch par he so jata hu."

To make his point clearer, Salman even gave a live demo on the show. He lay down on the sofa placed on the set, showing how comfortable it feels to him. The audience burst into laughter, and Kapil Sharma could not stop teasing him about it. Salman added that this habit is not limited to his home. Even when he stays in five-star hotels, he does not bother entering the bedroom. He prefers sleeping on the sofa while watching television, as that feels natural to him.

Kapil then jokingly asked how Salman manages to sleep on a sofa, since it usually has space for only one person. Salman’s reply turned the moment into a bigger laugh. He said that this is exactly why he likes sleeping on a sofa. It is meant for one person, and that suits him just fine. The exchange highlighted Salman’s effortless humour and his comfort in laughing at himself.
