Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has long been admired for his powerful screen presence and muscular physique. Over the years, fans have often wondered what fuels the discipline behind the actor’s fitness routine. In a past interview, Salman’s longtime fitness trainer Rakkesh R Uddiyar opened up about the actor’s diet and lifestyle, revealing that the secret behind his physique is surprisingly simple.

According to Rakkesh, Salman’s approach to food is built on balance, moderation and consistency rather than extreme dieting trends that many celebrities follow today.

Salman himself once explained his philosophy about food with refreshing honesty. “I’ll eat anything but won’t overeat. Like say, one spoon rice or at max one and a half, whatever vegetables, then chicken or mutton or fish,” he shared while speaking about his eating habits.

The actor’s trainer also revealed that despite being one of the biggest stars in the country, Salman prefers home-cooked meals above everything else. Rakkesh said that the superstar is extremely particular about eating food prepared by his mother, Salma Khan.

“He only eats home food, cooked by his mother. No matter what food you bring him, he would say, ‘Ghar ka khana do. Mummy ne jo banaya wahi khana lagao. Wahi khaunga (Give me home-cooked food. I will eat what my mother has prepared),’” Rakkesh disclosed while discussing Salman’s food preferences.

Unlike many fitness enthusiasts who depend on strict calorie-cutting or trendy diets, Salman’s routine is surprisingly grounded in everyday Indian food. His trainer explained that the actor follows a structured eating schedule throughout the day rather than restricting himself severely.

“In the morning, he has porridge, eggs and fruits. In the afternoon, he eats home-cooked food, either fish or chicken,” Rakkesh revealed, adding that vegetables and salads are always a major part of Salman’s daily meals.

The actor also maintains portion control even when eating foods he enjoys. According to Rakkesh, Salman keeps a close eye on balance and nutrition in his diet.

“Salman takes some rice and prefers more vegetables. His salads are a priority,” the trainer said while explaining how the actor ensures that his meals remain healthy and well balanced.

Interestingly, Salman’s discipline becomes even stricter when he prepares for physically demanding film roles or action sequences. The trainer revealed that the actor begins adjusting his food intake well before shooting begins.

“When preparing for an action scene, he starts reducing his food intake two months in advance. Once the shoot is done, he returns to his normal diet. There is no particular diet plan. He is a healthy eating guy,” Rakkesh explained.

Even when it comes to cheat meals, Salman follows a controlled approach. The superstar does indulge occasionally but never lets it derail his fitness routine.

“He has a cheat meal once a week, but his calorie intake never exceeds 2000 calories,” Rakkesh said while describing the actor’s disciplined approach.

Despite maintaining strict fitness standards, Salman still enjoys his favourite comfort foods from time to time. According to his trainer, one dish that always remains close to his heart is biryani.

“Biryani remains Salman’s favourite cheat meal,” Rakkesh revealed, adding with a smile, “Birthdays and all mein toh chalta hai.”

What stands out about Salman Khan’s diet philosophy is its simplicity. Instead of relying on complicated fitness formulas, the actor focuses on moderation, home-cooked food and consistency.

In an industry where extreme diet plans often make headlines, Salman’s routine serves as a reminder that discipline and balance may sometimes be the most powerful formula for long-term fitness.
