Vikrant Massey clarifies that co-pilot Clive Kunder of Air India London flight that crashed was a family friend, not his cousin

Actor Vikrant Massey has recently clarified that co-pilot Clive Kunder, who died in the recent Ahmedabad plane crash was his family friend not his cousin. He has also asked privacy for his friend's family.

Actor Vikrant Massey had revealed that one of his closest ones had died in the tragic Air India plane crash on Thursday. He wrote on his social media that his uncle Clifford Kunder had lost his son, Clive Kunder, in the crash, leading many to speculate that he was referring to his cousin.

However, Vikrant has now clarified and noted that Clive, who passed away in the crash, was a family friend, not his cousin. He also requested everyone to allow the grieving family to process their loss in peace.

The actor took to his Instagram Story and wrote, “Dear friends in the media and elsewhere, the unfortunately diseased Mr. Clive Kunder was not my cousin. The Kunders are our family friends. Request no more speculations and let the family and loved ones grieve in peace.”

Meanwhile, Vikrant previously took to his Instagram Story to mourn the loss of the victims of the Ahmedabad plane crash. He wrote, “My heart breaks for the families & loved ones of the ones who lost their lives in the unimaginably tragic air crash in Ahmedabad today.”

He revealed that one of his friends was also among the victims and continued, “It pains even more to know that my uncle, Clifford Kunder, lost his son, Clive Kunder, who was the 1st officer operating on that fateful flight.”

For the unversed, the Air India flight, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, identified as Air India 171, bound for London, crashed five minutes after take-off from Ahmedabad airport on Thursday afternoon. The aircraft was carrying 242 people, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members.
