Actor Vedang Raina, who is making his theatrical debut with Jigra, was in Delhi with co-star and onscreen sister Alia Bhatt to launch the title track of the movie.

The actor has lent his voice to the title track, Jigra, and much to the delight of the media, he also performed the number on stage.

During the press conference when Money Control talked about his character Ankur in Jigra and how different it is from his OTT debut movie Archies, he said, "Ankur's character is closer to who I am.'

The actor also expressed gratitude for getting such a rooted role at the start of his career.

"I don't think I have played much of a lover boy in Archies. I guess he was a different character—cocky, bane, only cared about his looks. I think that's the last thing I cared about in this film (Alia: Not in that one scene). Apart from that, Regie's persona was I am so cool; I am the best. I think for Ankur, none of those things were valid. Ankur's character is closer to who I am as a person; Reggie was very, very far away from me. It was quite liberating to not run my hands through my hair all the time because Vasan shaved it all multiple times. I was bald through the film, so no hair throughout the film. I had to look a bit disheveled, so no makeup, aik hi outfit in the whole film. I wore one outfit throughout the film. So I had to just come to the set and be the character. So it was very liberating that none of the stuff I had to go through. I really enjoyed it and gave it all to my character. I am happy as an actor that so early in my career I am getting an opportunity to play such varied characters," he said in response to our question.

Vedang had played the role of Reggie Mantle in Zoya Akhtar's Indian adaptation of Archies, which was released on Netflix in 2023. This is Vedang's second movie.
Vedang has also sung 'Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka' in the movie, and he also hummed a few lines of the hit song for the audience.

Vedang revealed that before becoming an actor, his first love was always singing, and he is happy to be able to fulfill his dream so early in his career.
Talking about the title track, the song has got more than 2.5 million views on YouTube.

Janhvi Kapoor also commented on the post saying "A star is born" and added a fire emoji.

The movie is set to release this Friday, October 11. Jigra is co-produced by Alia's Eternal Sunshine Productions and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
