Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, along with their director Vasan Balan, were in New Delhi for the promotions of their upcoming Dussehra release, Jigra. The trio launched their title track, Jigra, which is sung by Vedang himself, at the Delhi event.

When Money Control asked Alia Bhatt about the kind of preparation that went into her role of fiesty and determined Satya in the film, the actress said 'she kind of flowed with the script' and not much went into the prep as many alterations were being done on the sets as they shot.

"Honestly, no prep for the film. Vedang and I met for the first time, and we discussed just one scene. I think we discussed it for two minutes, and then we chatted about movies and stuff. Vasan (director Vasan Bala) and I work like this. In this film, there was no dialect to be learned. I learned basketball for a small sequence in the movie that I had to learn for 6 months. I have to say the flow on the set was such that in the initial days I was learning my lines and all, but later I left the paper as there was so much improvisation on the go. And things were changing. We really sort of flowed with it and usme zyada maza hai for me personally because then the world is your oyster. Kuch bhi ho sakta hai, of course staying in the guardrails of the plot is something I enjoyed the most," she replied.

Alia looked pretty in a corset top, paired with a black blazer and baggy pants. She kept her make-up minimal, showing her natural beauty.

Talking about Alia's preparations for the role in the movie, Vasan Bala praised the actress for her intense preparation internally.

"Alia ka process alag hai woh zyada prep karti hai, but its very internal, but usse film par havi hone nahi deti," he said.

Alia Bhatt is co-producing the movie Jigra. She also hummed a few lines of their song from the movie at the event in Delhi.

When we asked Vasan Bala about Jigra being compared to Sridevi's 1993 hit film directed by Mahesh Bhatt, he said, 'Jigra is a kind of homage to it.'

'Gumrah is one of my favorite films that I have seen, and Sridevi's performance is incredible in it. So yeah, it is also a jailbreak film in that sense. Ye Arjun, Ghayal, Gupt bhi hai bahut sare sub plots milenge. So in that genre, yes, it is a homage, and you will find that homage as well," he said.

Praising Vasan for his direction and surprises in the movie, Alia said, "One thing I have to say is that there are many Easter eggs in the film, and for that, you have to watch the film multiple times."

Vasan added that he hopes people shower Jigra with all the love: "Gumrah is a film that I love, and hopefully this also turns out to be a film that people love."

Jigra is a story of sibling love and how a sister can go to any lengths to protect her brother in the hour of need. The trailer shows Alia Bhatt's character planning a jailbreak to get her baby brother out.

Jigra releases in theaters on October 11.
