Directed by Rahi Anil Barve and featuring Sohum Shah in the lead role, Tumbbad initially had an underwhelming performance during its original release but made a stunning comeback with its re-release.

Ghilli previously held the title for the highest-grossing re-release, but Tumbbad has now claimed the top spot. It has also outperformed other significant re-releases such as Titanic (Rs 18 crore gross), Sholay 3D (Rs 13 crore gross), and Laila Majnu (Rs 11.50 crore gross).

During its original run in 2018, Tumbbad earned Rs 13.5 crore nett. The film’s lead actor and co-producer, Sohum Shah, recently announced a sequel following the re-release's success, further heightening audience anticipation.
