Reality show The 50 may have opened with fun banter and competitive energy, but its very first episode quickly veered into serious territory when YouTuber Sagar Thakur, popularly known as Maxtern, spoke candidly about a past controversy during a conversation with Prince Narula.

Without naming anyone directly, Maxtern’s account strongly hinted at his much-publicised fallout with Elvish Yadav, a controversy that has followed both creators across platforms for months.

His remarks shifted the tone of the episode from light-hearted reality drama to an introspective discussion on trust, mental health, and the dangers of social media narratives.

Maxtern recalled being caught off guard by an unexplained financial transaction. He revealed that while he was offline, Rs 1 lakh was transferred into his account without his knowledge. “One day someone told me to check my account. I had been offline the entire time. When I checked, I found out that he had transferred Rs 1 lakh into my account,” he said. While clarifying that the amount itself was not significant to him, Maxtern admitted the transfer left him confused. “Rs 1 lakh is nothing; money like that comes and goes. I don’t even know why Rs 1 lakh was sent to my account,” he added.

Opening up further, Maxtern spoke about his emotional vulnerability at the time. He described being in a lonely mental space, where conversations about brotherhood and collaboration affected his judgment. He admitted that he assessed the person involved based on their past image, even as serious allegations were circulating online. According to him, exhaustion and emotional strain made it difficult to think clearly or question intentions.

Addressing allegations that he had abused someone’s mother, Maxtern firmly denied the claim. Calling it a false accusation, he stressed the need for responsible use of social media and warned against blindly believing viral narratives.

Prince Narula responded with rare self-reflection, admitting that he too had made impulsive mistakes during online rivalries earlier in his career. He said experience taught him a crucial lesson. “There is a huge difference between reel life and real life,” Prince noted, urging contestants to pause before reacting publicly.

Maxtern also mentioned a delayed music video shoot and severe lack of sleep, which worsened his mental exhaustion. He claimed that when similar memes and accusations began appearing everywhere, it felt orchestrated. He eventually returned the Rs 1 lakh in two UPI transfers but said the intention behind the transfer remains unclear.
