Bollywood actor Sonu Sood is being criticised for not following road safety rules during his visit to the Spiti valley. The actor and philanthropist was seen riding a bike without a helmet or safety gear in Himachal Pradesh's Spiti Valley.

The actor's video has noew gone viral and netizens have opposed Sonu Sood's decision to not follow road safety rules when he had himself pushed for road safety and cautious travel earlier.

In the now viral video, Sonu Sood is seen riding a bike without a shirt or helmet. The actor is seen sporting sunglasses as he leads a group of motorcyclists across the snow-covered valley.

The video was published by the Instagram page 'Ride With Victor'. Sonu Sood may be seen wearing a helmet and other safety equipment in previous videos posted on the platform.

The footage in which he is seen without a helmet sparked anger on social media.

A social media user wrote: "So, will @himachalpolice take any action against @SonuSood for cycling nude without a helmet in Spiti? No protective gear, no clothing - God knows what he's trying to promote. "Are celebrities above the law?"

Someone more wrote: "He is trying to revive his flop career, this is the trailer before he opens his OF account?"

In an official post on X (previously Twitter), the Lahaul-Spiti police recognised the viral video and announced the launch of an inquiry.

The statement added, "A video of a Bollywood actor disobeying traffic laws in Lahaul-Spiti area has gone popular on social media. According to early evidence, the video looks to be from 2023. The responsibility of assessing the validity has been assigned to DySP Headquarters in Kyelang."

They continued, "The district police will take whatever action is necessary under the law. District Police Lahaul-Spiti urges all people and tourists to obey traffic regulations and behave in a disciplined and responsible manner."

Another remark stated, "This worthless fellow is starving of attention! "What an obscene and desperate way to grab eyeballs!"

In an official post on X (previously Twitter), the Lahaul-Spiti police recognized the viral video and announced the launch of an inquiry.

Ironically, Sonu Sood had recently featured in a road safety campaign, asking people to always wear helmets and obey traffic laws. He has yet to reply to the uproar around the viral video.
