The weapons supervisor for the film Rust has been sentenced in the United States to 18 months in prison for her involvement in the fatal on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the armorer on the film, received the maximum possible sentence during April 15th hearing in Santa Fe, New Mexico, after being found guilty of involuntary manslaughter on March 6. State Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer, who delivered the sentence, emphasized Gutierrez-Reed's responsibility to maintain a safe set and stated that she failed in that duty.
