Recently, Kalki 2898 AD producers Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt hosted an intimate party where Pan-Indian superstar Prabhas attracted attention.
The intimate event brought together some of the closest friends and colleagues in the film industry in a cosy, happy environment that struck the ideal balance between comfort and style.
The photos from the evening, shared by a popular Prabhas fan page on Instagram, instantly went viral.
In one photo, Prabhas is seen standing amiably next to Swapna Dutt. He is wearing a dark, carefree outfit that goes well with his easy charm. In another, he is seen smiling under gentle, golden lights that create a festive yet personal atmosphere while having a good time with a white-clad guest.
Earlier this year, in June, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan also took a moment to reflect on the film’s journey. Reposting Vyjayanthi Movies’ anniversary message on X, he expressed heartfelt appreciation for being part of such a monumental project.
“My honoured privilege to be asked to be a part of it ... one that I admired and respected the blessings of Vijayanti films and the elders that ran and connected with it … ever to be a part of it any day again, IF THEY WERE TO EVER TO ASK,”
Big B wrote that subtly hinting at his willingness to return if Kalki 2 takes shape.
Kalki 2898 AD was a cinematic milestone, it is a stunning fusion of mythology and science fiction set in a dystopian future. As the first chapter in the Kalki Cinematic Universe, it pushed the limits of visual storytelling and established itself as a global phenomenon.
Released in 2024, the film featured a powerhouse cast — Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan — and went on to collect over ₹1000 crore worldwide. It became the second-highest-grossing film of 2024 and one of the biggest Telugu films ever made.
Naturally, fans are now eager for what comes next. The announcement of a sequel set off waves of anticipation, but director Nag Ashwin has urged fans to stay patient.
Speaking to reporters in September, he explained, “The actors have to come together. Some of the pre-visualized and action sequences are much bigger. So it will take some time. I don’t have an exact answer. Everyone is busy.”
Ashwin hinted that fans might have to wait a bit longer for the next chapter. “Hopefully in another 2 or 3 years — that’s what I think,” he added, underscoring the enormous scale and ambition of the sequel.
