Prabhas fans celebrated the release of the horror comedy, The Raja Saab, flocking the theatres to watch the first day first show. Fans were heard yelling and hurling confetti during the introduction scene, song sequences, and crocodile battle scene, among other scenes, in videos from inside the screenings that appeared on social media.

A fire started in an Odisha theatre during the festivities when fans performed aarti inside the theatre. Additionally, fans were shooting arrows and igniting torches in front of the screen during Prabhas’ entry sequence.

Many fans even attempted to blow it off, but it caught fire directly in front of the screen. In the midst of the chaos and commotion, several were observed running out of the theatre in a panic. Videos from the theatre went viral on social media.

Nevertheless, there have been no reported casualties or injuries.

The film opened in the theatres with Rs 53.75 crore net in India, with the total now stands at Rs 90.73 crore net in India. The Raja Saab is also enjoying a decent run at the global box office, as it earned Rs 138.4 crore worldwide net and Rs 30 crore net overseas. Meanwhile, the film’s collected Rs 108.4 gross in India.

About The Raja Saab

Prabhas returns to his favourite genre of mass entertainer with comedy. The film also features Sanjay Dutt, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Riddhi Kumar, and Boman Irani in the lead roles.

The film fantasy thriller revolves around a young heir who embraces both his royal heritage and rebellious spirit as he rises to power, establishing unprecedented rules during his reign as Raja Saab.

The movie received criticism for a number of reasons, including some parts from the trailer that weren't included in the actual movie. In response to criticism, the film's producers organised a press conference in Hyderabad on Saturday to talk about the movie and revealed that it now includes new scenes with Prabhas looking older.
