Actor and political commentator Prakash Raj recently shared a candid moment with comedian Kunal Kamra, who has been in the spotlight due to threats he received following a parody video targeting Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde.
On Friday, April 11, Prakash Raj posted a cheerful photo of himself with Kamra on X, injecting some humour into a tense situation. Alongside the photo, he wrote: “Tamil Nadu kaise pahunchneka bhai ..?? Simple... Auto mein [How to reach Tamil Nadu, brother? Simple... by auto rickshaw"]
The tongue-in-cheek caption referenced a viral audio clip where a Shiv Sena worker is allegedly heard issuing threats to Kamra and questioning how one would reach Tamil Nadu.

In the leaked call, the individual can be heard hurling abuses and warning Kamra of violence. “Tu jidhar milega na bh**ke, tera bhi wohi haal hoga ["Wherever we find you, you [expletive], you'll face the same fate."] the caller says, allegedly alluding to the vandalism of the Habitat studio, where Kamra filmed his controversial video.
The comedian, however, remained unfazed and coolly replied: “Aaja Tamil Nadu, main yahi milunga [“Come to Tamil Nadu, I’ll be right here.”] When the caller asked again, “Kidhar aane ka? [Where should I come?”] Kamra boldly retorted, “Tamil Nadu Aaja [Come to Tamil Nadu"] The confused Sena worker then asked, “Abhi Tamil Nadu kaise pahunchega bhai? [“How will I even get to Tamil Nadu now, bro?]”—a line that quickly became a viral meme online.

The whole controversy stems from Kamra’s parody of a song from the 1997 Bollywood classic Dil Toh Pagal Hai, which he used to satirise Shinde.
The act sparked outrage among Shiv Sena supporters, leading to the vandalisation of the Habitat studio and, shortly after, partial demolition by the BMC.

In response, Kamra issued a detailed statement defending his right to satire: “Your inability to take a joke at the expense of a powerful public figure does not change the nature of my right.”
Mumbai Police had earlier registered an FIR against Kamra on March 24 based on a complaint by Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel, and subsequently issued two summonses for questioning.
As tensions continue, the viral photo of Kamra and Prakash Raj stands as a small act of defiance—and solidarity.
