Emraan Hashmi is all set to return to the new high-octane thriller, Taskaree: The Smuggler Web, and the makers have created a buzz among the fans with the release of the trailer.

The official social media handle of Netflix India released the trailer of Taskaree: The Smuggler Web. The trailer was accompanied by the caption that reads, “Fasten your seatbelts. Taskaron, prepare for a rough landing, kyunki ab sab kuch scan hoga. Watch Taskaree: The Smuggler’s Web, out 14 January, only on Netflix.”

Taskaree investigates the complex and perilous machinery of the international smuggling network, covering important routes through Bangkok, Milan, Addis Ababa, and Al-Dera. In order to keep one step ahead of the law, these passageways create a massive web based on forged paperwork, coded logistics, and well-planned deception. Every luggage, passenger, and cargo shipment at Mumbai International Airport, one of the biggest transit hubs in the world, may be concealing something much darker.

The trailer further shows that a specialised and ferociously honest customs task squad led by Emraan Hashmi's character, Arjun Meena, is at the forefront of the battle. Meena is accompanied by a strong team that includes Mitali Kamath (Amruta Khanvilkar), Ravinder Gujjar (Nandish Singh Sandhu), and Prakash Kumar (Anurag Sinha).

Arjun Meena is renowned for his keen intuition and unwavering integrity. Together, they negotiate a world where gut instinct, monitoring, and profiling are all equally important, and where a single missed detail might undo months of laborious intelligence.

The elusive and brutal smuggling boss Bada Chaudhary, portrayed by Sharad Kelkar, stands in their way. Chaudhary's network, which operates through a strong syndicate with a global reach, is layered in secrecy and uses intricate pathways and decoys to be undetectable.

The trailer continued with a dramatic psychological fight characterised by moral quandaries, relentless pressure, and cat-and-mouse chases taking place between the customs officers and the syndicate.
