Kapil Sharma's highly anticipated follow-up, Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, opened in the theatres with lackluster review. However, the film has made its way to the OTT platform now.
The official social media handle of JioHotstar announced the OTT release date of Kapil Sharma’s film. Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 begins streaming from February 6 on JioHotstar.
Announcing its digital release, the official social media handle of the streaming platform wrote, “Jhooth pe jhooth, shaadi pe shaadi aur beech mein phasi comedy. Watch #KisKiskoPyaarKaroon2, now streaming only on JioHotstar.”
The movie stars Sharma alongside Manjot Singh, Hira Warina, Tridha Choudhury, Parul Gulati, and Ayesha Khan.
Fans now have the chance to watch the film from home if they were unable to see it in theatres.
Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 was first released on December 12 and faced fierce competition from Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar, which led to a lacklustre opening at the box office. Despite Kapil Sharma's and the ensemble cast's prominence, the film failed to get the anticipated number of viewers.
The plot centres on Kapil Sharma's character Mohan Sharma, whose attempts to wed his beloved Saniya are blocked by family resistance because of interfaith concerns. Mohan's life becomes even more complicated when he changes to another religion because he is determined to remain with her. This leads to a string of humorous misunderstandings as he meets and marries three other women.
The production team pushed for a second chance in theatres before switching to over-the-top (OTT) platforms, despite the film's struggles for additional showtimes and competition for screens. Due to ongoing difficulties in obtaining enough theatre screens to meet the film's prospective audience, plans for a re-release were ultimately abandoned.
