House of the Dragon Season 2: Where to watch the much-awaited Game of Thrones spinoff

The second half of the first season of House of the Dragon not only leaped ahead decades in time, but also introduced – rather belatedly – the dragons. It’s strange for a show with the word dragon in its title, to take that long to actually spin some fire-spitting animals into action. This second season, as HBO executives have pointed out in interviews, will introduce more dragons, new characters and the kind of scale we have come to expect of anything carrying the heritage of Game of Thrones.

House of the Dragon Season 2: What you can expect

Civil War! The show has already released two separate trailers, one for each warring faction – called the greens and blacks because of their house colours – indicating that this would be a straight up confrontation between two mighty angry houses. A lot of your favourite characters like Daemon, Otto Hightower and others will return in a second season that looks set to up the ante. Even though the books House of the Dragon is based on have been finished (unlike GOT), there is a lot about this second season that will be unpredictable. Also there will be more dragons.

The second season of House of the Dragon premieres in the US on 16 June on HBO. In India it will be available to stream on JioCinema from the same day. Unlike the first season, there are likely to be eight episodes in this second season, as the creators try to make sure there are allotted sufficient length and time to tell the ‘Dance of the Dragons’ right.
