A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly making death threats against Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and politician Zeeshan Siddique.

This incident unfolds in the wake of the tragic murder of Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister, who was shot dead just weeks prior outside his office in Mumbai. The killing has been linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, raising concerns over the safety of public figures in the region.

The accused, identified as Mohammad Tayyab alias Gurfan, reportedly made threatening calls to both Zeeshan Siddique and Salman Khan on the evening of October 25.

These threats came amid a turbulent political atmosphere, with Zeeshan Siddique recently transitioning from the Congress party to the Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Following the murder of his father, Baba Siddique, who had close ties with the film industry, Zeeshan Siddique is now navigating a complex web of politics and safety.

Authorities have confirmed that the calls not only included death threats but also demands for ransom from both Zeeshan and Salman.

It led to the arrest of Tayyab in Noida's Sector 39 area. The Mumbai Police have taken him into custody on a transit remand.

Baba Siddique's killing on October 12 has sent shockwaves throughout the community. He was a prominent figure, having served as a Congress MLA for two terms before resigning earlier this year to join the NCP. A member of the Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder, citing Baba Siddique's associations with Salman Khan as a motive.

In the wake of Baba Siddique’s death, the police have arrested 15 individuals connected to the case, underscoring the ongoing efforts to dismantle the networks of organized crime that have infiltrated both politics and the entertainment industry. The ramifications of this violence extend beyond mere headlines, affecting the lives and safety of those involved.
