Priyanka Chopra’s mother Dr Madhu Chopra talks about the age gap between Nick and Priyanka, ‘Koi farak nahi padha’

Dr Madhu Chopra, the mother of the celebrated Indian actress, Priyanka Chopra, recently sat down for a conversation with an entertainment publication and discussed the marriage of her daughter with singer Nick Jonas.

The pair have a ten year age difference between them with Priyanka Chopra being older than Nick Jonas.

When asked about the age gap between the couple, Dr Madhu Chopra said, “Koi farak nahi padha. Aadmi acha hai. Ladki ache hai. Both care for each other. That’s all. (It didn’t matter. The man is good. The girl is good. They both care for each other. That is what matters)”

The interviewer asked if there was even a bit of a discussion amongst the family regarding the age gap to which Chopra responded by saying, “Nothing. Uss nazar se dekha hi nahi. I was so happy and ecstatic. (Nothing. We never saw it like that. I was very happy and ecstatic)”

Madhu Chopra also opened up about how Nick Jonas convinced her to approve their union. She recalled that when Nick first came to India, he took Madhu Chopra out for lunch when Priyanka was not around. He asked her the qualities she was looking for in a son in law.

After Madhu listed them, Nick took her hand and said, “I am that guy. Can I be that person? I promise that nothing from your list will be left unchecked.”

Madhu Chopra was absolutely enamoured by his response and the rest was history.

Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra are one of Hollywood’s biggest couples and their marriage was a grand affair in Jodhpur in 2018. After a traditional Indian marriage, they had a second marriage in a church to honour Jonas’ religion.

The couple are blessed with a daughter, Malti Marie Jonas.
