The daughter of Malayalam megastar Mohanlal, Vismaya, also known as Maya, is finally entering the acting industry, ending years of rumours that she would follow in her father's footsteps.

Vismaya has mostly avoided the limelight up to this point, concentrating instead on her love of writing and painting. She has kept a low profile in public, preferring to keep her artistic endeavours private.

Whenever asked about her potential acting career, Mohanlal has been supportive yet non-committal, stating, “It’s her decision; she is mature enough to choose what she wants.”

Her next appearance will be in Aashirvad Cinemas' 37th film, Thudakkam. Jude Anthany Joseph will be directing the movie, and his involvement has raised interest in the project.

Vismaya's decision to pursue acting is noteworthy because it is one of the rare instances in which both of a Malayalam superstar's children have decided to pursue careers in the film industry.

With a few successful films under his belt, her brother Pranav Mohanlal has already made a name for himself while cautiously avoiding the spotlight.

Aashirvad Cinemas, the production house backing Thudakkam, was founded in 1999 by Antony Perumbavoor, who began his career as Mohanlal’s trusted driver.

In 2000, Perumbavoor produced the blockbuster Narasimham with Mohanlal, a film that helped establish the company as a major force in Malayalam cinema.

Whether Mohanlal himself will appear in Thudakkam remains a question, as does the film’s official start date, both eagerly awaited by fans.

Vismaya's foray into the film business fits in with the increasing number of young celebrities leaving their mark on Malayalam cinema.
