The Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024 kicked off on Wednesday, November 20, with polling running from 7 am to 6 pm. Several Bollywood stars, including Akshay Kumar, Kartik Aaryan, Suniel Shetty, and Farhan Akhtar, were among the early voters. Joining them were Hema Malini, Esha Deol, Rakul Preet Singh, Gulzar, and Sonu Sood, all stepping out to exercise their voting rights and set an example of civic responsibility.
Hema Malini and her daughter Esha Deol arrived together at the polling booth to cast their votes. After voting, the duo proudly displayed their inked fingers to the paparazzi. Hema Malini looked elegant in a green salwar suit, while Esha kept it chic in a casual white shirt paired with denim jeans.
Actor Sonu Sood arrived in style to vote and following that while talking to the media he said, "Vote, it's very important for the country. It's the responsibility of every citizen to go and vote. Don't make it a holiday, just go and vote," focusing on the sheer importance of voting.
Veteran actor Prem Chopra, at 89 years old, stepped out to cast his vote, fulfilling his civic duty with dedication.
Rakul Preet Singh and her husband Jackky Bhagnani were spotted along with their family at the polling booth. Rakul looked dapper in white top and jeans, keeping her look casual. While Jackky came in all black outfit.
Renowned lyricist Gulzar arrived at the polling booth with his daughter, filmmaker Meghna Gulzar, to cast his vote. After fulfilling his civic duty, he interacted with the paparazzi and proudly showed his inked finger.
Actor Paresh Rawal also joined the list of celebrities and participated in the voting process as a responsible citizen by casting his vote.
The Maharashtra elections saw significant celebrity participation. Their involvement has been instrumental in encouraging voter turnout, especially among younger audiences. To ensure a seamless voting process, elaborate security measures were implemented. The Mumbai Police deployed over 25,000 officers, including riot-control units and home guards, to maintain order throughout the day.
