Prabhas' starrer Kannappa is just a few days away from releasing in the theatres, and the fans must be wondering about the film’s official runtime. However, the makers have just revealed the major detail of the upcoming mythological thriller.
Film editor Antony Gonsalvez, who is also behind Kannappa’s editing panel, has now revealed the run time of the historical drama, which would be around two hours and 50 minutes.
In an interview with IANS during a pre-release event organised by the film’s makers in Chennai on Monday, Anthony revealed that Kannappa's run time is around 2 hours and 50 minutes. However, he also suggested that the film will not appear long as the story will keep moving at a ‘brisk pace’.
He said, “There are three tracks happening simultaneously in the film. The first one is about an atheist turning a believer and then a devotee. Then there is a romantic track that is happening. The third track is about an external threat to the clan. So, between the three tracks, the story will move at a brisk pace.”
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Vishnu Manchu plays the titular role of Thinnadu (Kannappa), the fearless warrior-turned-devotee who transformed into the ultimate devotee of Lord Shiva. Akshay Kumar will portray the role of Lord Shiva. However, Mohanlal will star as Kirata and Prabhas as Rudra.
Kannappa revolves around a sceptical hunter who attains divine enlightenment through Lord Shiva, undergoing a profound transformation into his ardent disciple.
Kannappa is slated to hit the theatres on June 27.
