The Fantastic Four OTT release

Marvel fans have reason to celebrate as “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” prepares to land on OTT soon letting viewers experience the superhero spectacle from the comfort of home.

The film has already proven to be a summer hit, raking in an impressive $521 million worldwide, and it’s easy to see why it captured audiences’ hearts.

The film will stream on Disney+ from 5 November.

When it hit theatres on 25 July, the 37th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe opened to $117 million domestically and $218 million globally, marking Marvel’s biggest opening weekend of the year and the second-highest superhero debut of the summer, only behind DC’s Superman.

Directed by Matt Shakman, First Steps represents Hollywood’s second serious attempt to bring the Fantastic Four back to life for a modern audience.

The Fantastic Four have a long and colourful history on screen. Tim Story’s Fantastic Four (2005) and its sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), laid the groundwork, followed by Josh Trank’s 2015 reboot. Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019 brought the characters firmly into the MCU, giving them a fresh canvas to shine.

What makes First Steps stand out is its warmth and sense of fun. Set in a retro-futuristic world, the film embraces the comic’s 1960s charm while focusing on the team as a family already at the height of their heroic powers.

Rather than dwelling on origin stories, it explores friendship, family dynamics, and teamwork, making it a heartfelt story amidst the high-octane action.

The superhero family is brought to life by Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing.

On the cosmic side, Julia Garner stars as The Silver Surfer, Ralph Ineson as Galactus, and Paul Walter Hauser plays Harvey Elder/Mole Man, adding a thrilling depth to the story.

After streaming at home, fans can gear up for the next chapter as the Fantastic Four gear up for “Avengers: Doomsday”, hitting cinemas on 18 December 2026.
