The British broadcaster Piers Morgan, known for being outspoken, recently shared an update on his health on January 18, 2026.
Piers Morgan, 60, opened up about a terrible and unanticipated turn of events in his new year: a shattered hip that sent him to a hospital in London, necessitating a complete hip replacement and months of recuperation.
Piers Morgan took to his X (formerly Twitter) and recalled the mishap with characteristic candour and humour. He wrote, “BREAKING NEWS 1. Tripped on small step. 2. In a London hotel restaurant.”

He continued, “3. Fractured femur. 4. So badly I needed new hip. 5. Recovering in hospital. 6. Crutches for 6wks 7. No long-haul for 12 wks," he wrote, punctuating the ordeal with a pair of puns: "8. New Year off to a cracking start!" and, in a nod to his long-time friend and sometime sparring partner, "9. I blame Donald Trump."
Piers Morgan has shared that the accident occurred when he stumbled over a tiny step while eating at a hotel restaurant in London. He had to have his hip replaced right away since the fall was so bad that it broke the femur's neck.
He gave his followers an insight into the truth of his predicament by posting pictures from his hospital bed, including a selfie and an X-ray of the injured joint.
According to The Daily Mail, Piers Morgan maintained a positive attitude and displayed his trademark sense of humour despite the possibility of months of rehabilitation following the trauma.

Piers Morgan will need crutches for six weeks as he begins a protracted recuperation, and doctors have urged him to avoid long-distance travel for at least 12 weeks. The prognosis is dire: up to three months of limited mobility, a lot of physical treatment, and, as Morgan's message made evident, a forced break from his normally hectic schedule.
