Kapoor family has secured the personality rights of late veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor. The Kapoor family has obtained the copyright for his name to preserve his legacy. The legal step was taken to stop unapproved and commercial usage of the late actor's name.

According to India Today, a source revealed that the Kapoor family now has the required authorisation to posthumously copyright the actor's name.

The ruling guarantees that any person or entity wishing to utilise Rishi Kapoor's name in public, professional, or commercial settings must first get the family's consent.
