Gulmohar team honored by President Droupadi Murmu at 70th National Film Awards

Star Studios' critically acclaimed family film GULMOHAR has bagged multiple accolades at the 70th National Film Awards, including BEST FILM (Hindi), BEST DIALOGUES, and a SPECIAL MENTION for Manoj Bajpayee. The team proudly accepted these honors from President Smt. Droupadi Murmu during today’s ceremony.

Director Rahul V.Chittella added, “It’s an absolute privilege to receive the highest recognized Indian film award for Gulmohar from the Honorable President herself. My entire team is deeply thrilled as it’s a beautiful poetic culmination from where we began this journey together. I’d like to thank Bikram Duggal and his entire team at Star Studios for being such a solid pillar of support and strength right from the inception. Along with having won the Best Hindi Film and Best Dialogues award with my co-writer, Arpita Mukherjee, I’m also particularly delighted that Manoj Bajpayee has won the best actor (special mention). It’s an honour to know that his fourth National award is for this very beloved film. He’s a rare treasure and it’s been a privilege creating this film with him and the legendary Sharmila ji! I’m truly blessed to have such a beautiful film family!”

Directed by Rahul V. Chittella, Gulmohar features an impressive cast, including the legendary Padma Bhushan and National Award-winning actress Sharmila Tagore, who made her return to the big screen after a decade. The film also stars National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee, along with Simran, Suraj Sharma, and acclaimed actor Amol Palekar, who has also received a National Award for his performances.

Gulmohar is a production by Star Studios in collaboration with Chalkboard Entertainment and Autonomous Works. The film features an original score by Siddhartha Khosla, known for his work on This is Us. Directed by Rahul V. Chittella, who co-wrote the script with Arpita Mukherjee, Gulmohar is currently available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
