Ranveer Singh-starrer Dhurandhar continues to dominate global OTT conversations, and its latest milestone comes with a public nod from director Aditya Dhar himself. The filmmaker recently shared an Instagram story that captured the film’s rising popularity in the UK, calling it a “spectacular movie” moment as Dhurandhar climbed Netflix’s trending charts in the region.
The Instagram story, reposted from a UK-based Netflix screen, showed Dhurandhar featured prominently among the platform’s top films, marking yet another international win for the espionage thriller. Dhar’s post adds a personal stamp to the film’s OTT journey, signalling both pride and validation as the project continues to perform strongly months after its theatrical release.
According to Netflix’s latest data, Dhurandhar is currently trending at No. 1 across multiple territories including India, Pakistan, the UAE, Bahrain, and Oman. The film also continues to rank within the top charts in the UK, underlining its sustained traction among international audiences. In Pakistan, the film debuted at the top position during the January 26 to February 1 tracking period, further cementing its cross-border reach on streaming.

The OTT success becomes even more striking when viewed against the backdrop of the film’s Middle East challenges. Dhurandhar did not receive theatrical clearance across Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. The ban was reportedly linked to objections over the film’s geopolitical themes and its depiction of Pakistan, which regional authorities flagged as sensitive.
Despite these restrictions, the film has found significant viewership in the Gulf through digital platforms. Dhurandhar is currently ranked No. 7 in Saudi Arabia and No. 3 in Kuwait on Netflix, indicating strong audience curiosity even in territories where cinema screenings were not permitted. Netflix’s official data for Qatar remains unavailable, leaving its exact ranking there unconfirmed.
Released theatrically on December 5, 2025, Dhurandhar made its Netflix debut on January 30, 2026. Since then, the film has steadily gained momentum, driven by word-of-mouth, repeat viewership, and the global accessibility of streaming. Headlined by Ranveer Singh, the film’s OTT surge has also fed into the growing buzz around its sequel.
The makers have already announced Dhurandhar: The Revenge, with a teaser and poster confirming a March 19, 2026 release. Directed once again by Aditya Dhar, the sequel is set for a major box office clash with Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown Ups, making Dhar’s celebratory Instagram story feel less like a victory lap and more like a sign of momentum building toward the next chapter.
