Actor Yami Gautam has taken a moment to acknowledge and thank her fans after her courtroom drama Haq received a warm reception following its OTT release on Netflix. Originally released in theatres in November 2025, the film — which co-stars Emraan Hashmi — struggled to make a big impact at the box office but has since found a broader audience online, prompting renewed conversation and appreciation.
After Haq began streaming on Netflix in early January 2026, viewers across India and beyond shared their thoughts about the film’s themes and performances, leading Yami to express her gratitude on social media.
On X (formerly Twitter), she posted a heartfelt message: She wrote, “Extremely grateful for such a heartfelt response to HAQ in abundance. The love is truly gratifying for me, both, as an artist & a woman. Jai Hind". Her note captured the deep appreciation she felt for the audiences who connected with the film after its digital premiere.

Haq delves into sensitive legal and social issues, particularly around gender, justice and women’s rights. Inspired by real-life events tied to personal laws in India, the film follows Shazia Bano (played by Yami), who takes on the legal system after being abandoned by her husband through triple talaq. Emraan Hashmi portrays her husband, Abbas Khan, giving a layered performance as a figure caught up in personal and cultural complexities.
