Buzz has erupted online around the highly anticipated action thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge after what appears to be an accidental casting “leak” on the social film database Letterboxd.
The sequel to 2025’s blockbuster Dhurandhar — directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh as Indian spy Hamza — is slated to release on March 19, 2026, and fans have been closely watching for any plot and casting clues.
While the film’s official cast list has remained largely under wraps, a Letterboxd entry recently listed several actors attached to Dhurandhar 2, including names returning from the first film such as Arjun Rampal, R. Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, Danish Pandor, and Rakesh Bedi.
As reported by entertainment outlets and social media users, one unexpected name on the list caught particularly strong attention — Emraan Hashmi, though no character details were provided.
This led to spirited online speculation that Emraan Hashmi might be portraying the mysterious antagonist known only as “Bade Sahab”, a shadowy figure referenced repeatedly in the first film’s dialogue and diary notes, but never shown on screen.
Some fans floated theories that the name Bade Sahab could be a code name linked to infamous real-world figures, while others saw Emraan Hashmi’s letterboxed inclusion as a possible spoiler hint.
Reddit threads and fan posts quickly circulated screenshots of the Letterboxd page, with many users expressing excitement at the idea of Hashmi portraying a powerful villain opposite Singh’s Hamza.
One Redditor said, “Damn, it’s just Emraan Hashmi’s world, and we are just living in it.” Another argued, “Omggg Emraan is a good casting, I always found him talented….watched Haq recently and found him equally good in the movie (Yami was of course magnificent).”
For now, the identity of Bade Sahab remains unconfirmed, and fans will likely need to wait for official announcements or the film’s trailer for clarity. Dhurandhar: The Revenge is expected to be one of 2026’s biggest Bollywood releases, with box office attention heightened by its clash with Toxic and its expanding cast intrigue.
Dhurandhar, starring Ranveer Singh, grossed Rs 1300 crore worldwide, becoming the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. The sequel, which releases on March 19, is clashing with Yash’s ambitious pan-India actioner, Toxic, at the box office.
