The news had sent a wave of concern across the country, with fans and fellow actors anxiously waiting for updates on his condition.

Initial reports had suggested that the 89-year-old actor was in critical condition and had been placed on ventilator support, but his family quickly stepped forward to put the rumours to rest. His wife, veteran actress Hema Malini, who has been by his side through his recovery, told reporters, “We’re hoping for his speedy recovery.”

Meanwhile, his son Sunny Deol’s team also issued a statement reassuring fans, saying, “This is rumour mongering like always. Sir is getting better. He’s under observation. There’s nothing to worry.”

The outpouring of love has also extended to social media, where thousands of posts continue to flood timelines.

Comedian Bharti Singh was among those who sent their heartfelt wishes, saying,  “Arre bhagwan aur humaari duaye unke saath hai, unhe kuch nahi hone waala, bas aap prayer ki jiye ki voh jaldi theek hojaye.”
