Malhar Patekar shared heartfelt memories of Ajit Pawar on social media, recalling the close friendship between the Pawar family and Nana Patekar’s household. Ajit Pawar’s sudden demise in a plane crash has led to widespread mourning and tributes across Maharashtra.

Malhar Patekar, son of veteran actor Nana Patekar, shared a set of rare and previously unseen photographs capturing moments between Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and his father at their farmhouse on the outskirts of Pune.

The photos, posted by Malhar on his social platforms, show Ajit Pawar visiting the Patekar farmhouse for a private lunch, spending time with Nana and other members of the family.

In an emotional note, Malhar wrote, “The passing away of Honourable Ajit Dada Pawar Saheb is a personal loss to us. He is family to us, and will remain so all our lives. Unforgettable memories with him, and hence irreparable damage done.”

Ajit Pawar was known to visit Nana Patekar’s farmhouse in Donje, near Pune, where he would often share meals and conversations away from the public eye — moments that reflected a genuine personal connection beyond their very different professional worlds.

Over the years, the two men developed a mutual respect for each other. Nana has publicly praised Pawar for his work ethic and the way he quietly went about his duties without seeking attention.

This sharing comes at a time when Maharashtra and much of India are mourning the sudden demise of Ajit Pawar, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, who died in a plane crash on January 28, 2026.

His unexpected passing sparked an outpouring of grief from political leaders, cultural figures, and the public alike, with tributes pouring in from all corners.

Thousands attended his funeral, where full state honours were accorded, and supporters chanted “Ajit Dada amar rahe” in tribute to his legacy.
