Deepika Padukone has set the internet buzzing after she appeared to approve a fan’s heartfelt plea for her to reunite with Ranbir Kapoor on screen. The actress, who has delivered some of Bollywood’s most memorable performances alongside Ranbir, liked a viral social media video urging filmmakers to bring the iconic pairing back in a fresh romantic comedy.

The now-viral clip was posted by creator Sonalika Puri, who passionately appealed to Bollywood directors and producers to revive one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved on-screen duos. In her video, Sonalika said, “This is a humble appeal to all directors and producers: can you please cast Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in a film together? Preferably a rom-com? Tum log bolte rehte ho picturey paise nahi kama rahi, log theatre me nahi aa rahe. Tum cast toh karo saath mein unko.”

She didn’t stop there. Emphasising the unmatched chemistry the actors share, she added, “Jis jodi ki public appearances itni zyaada buzz create kar deti hain, woh waapis screen pe aayenge toh socho kya ho jayega! Oh God, I can't even stop smiling thinking about it! Achche se script likho aur dono ko cast karo. Kyunki dono hi bohot zyada talented hain and itne khoobsurat lagte hain saath mein, yaar.”

The video quickly struck a chord with fans who have long hoped for another Ranbir–Deepika venture, years after films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Tamasha cemented their status as one of Bollywood’s most celebrated screen pairings. But what truly elevated the excitement was Deepika Padukone herself liking the post.

While there is no official confirmation or project in the pipeline featuring the duo, Deepika’s subtle acknowledgment has been enough to spark speculation across social media platforms. Many believe that if the right script comes along, a reunion could become a reality.
