As tensions continue to rise in West Asia, many voices from the film industry have begun reacting to the developments. Among them is actor Elnaaz Norouzi, who shared a deeply personal and emotional response to the escalating conflict and the humanitarian impact of the United States and Israel's strikes on Iran.
Taking to social media, the former The Traitors contestant posted a heartfelt message, revealing that she has been praying for the safety of innocent civilians trapped in the violence.
For Elnaaz, this is not just another global headline. Born in Iran and later raised in Germany before building her career in India, the crisis hits close to home. She wrote that her thoughts are especially with families and children who are living in fear, urging people everywhere to respond with compassion and empathy during what she described as an extremely distressing time.
Sharing the video on Instagram, she wrote in the caption, "Praying for all innocent civilians and hoping the strikes are going to be precise and targeted only at the terrorist Free Iran Javid Shah"
In her statement, she made a clear distinction between the Iranian people and the country’s ruling establishment. She alleged that the current regime has oppressed citizens for decades and said that many Iranians have long voiced their opposition. According to her, ordinary people should not be held accountable for the decisions of those in power.
“If anybody dies in this war, if any civilians die in this war — not the regime — it is solely the Islamic Republic’s fault,” she said, stressing that everyday Iranians have repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction with the leadership.
She also spoke about the emotional toll the situation is taking on those with personal ties to the region, highlighting the anxiety and helplessness many are feeling as events unfold. Above all, she emphasized the urgent need to protect non-combatants and prioritise human life amid escalating military tensions.

Her post quickly resonated online. Many fans praised her for speaking candidly on a sensitive and complex issue, while others shared messages of solidarity and echoed her call for peace.
Elnaaz concluded by reiterating that, in her view, the people of Iran do not support the actions of the ruling regime and should not have to bear the consequences of the ongoing conflict.
