  • The expansion aims to modernise and preserve Dharmendra's ancestral home
  • The bungalow is valued at around Rs 60 crore and holds deep sentimental value

The legendary Deol family’s Juhu bungalow, long known as the residence of late Bollywood icon Dharmendra, is being expanded as his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol add another floor to the property, according to real estate and industry reports. The sprawling three-storey home, located in one of Mumbai’s most upscale neighbourhoods, is estimated to be worth approximately Rs 60 crore.

The Deol family estate holds deep sentimental value, having served as a traditional joint family home where generations lived and celebrated milestones together. Recent construction activity spotted at the property suggests that Sunny and Bobby are now upgrading the architectural footprint, adding to the mansion’s overall living space and modernising parts of the structure.

Sources familiar with the property say the expansion reflects both functional needs and a desire to maintain and enhance the family’s ancestral residence. The bungalow, set amidst Juhu’s premium real estate market, has been a focal point in reports on celebrity homes and opulent Mumbai addresses.

The renovation comes in the months following Dharmendra’s death in November 2025 at the age of 89, which triggered a period of private family mourning and public tributes from across the film industry and beyond. While the family has largely kept details of personal matters out of the spotlight, the ongoing construction indicates a renewed focus on preserving the legacy of the late actor’s Mumbai home.

The Juhu bungalow has long been considered one of the most iconic celebrity homes in Mumbai, reflecting Dharmendra’s understated yet classic taste. Spread across a large plot in the upscale neighbourhood, the house features spacious living areas, wooden interiors, vintage furniture, and walls adorned with photographs and memorabilia from the actor’s illustrious career.

The bungalow also includes a lush garden space, often seen in family pictures, and has served as a gathering point for the Deol family over the decades. Known for its warm, traditional ambience rather than overt luxury, the home stands as a reflection of Dharmendra’s grounded personality and enduring legacy.

While Sunny and Bobby Deol continue to manage the legacy of their family’s heritage, the extension of the Juhu bungalow stands as a testament to their efforts to preserve and elevate a home deeply tied to Dharmendra’s decades-long life and career.
