Following the massive success of Border 2 — which was one of the standout box office hits of 2026 — veteran action star Sunny Deol has officially commenced shooting for his next high-octane action thriller, tentatively titled Antony, in Mumbai.
The project went on floors on 27 February 2026, marking the start of principal photography under the guidance of debutant director Balaji Ganesh, who has previously worked with acclaimed filmmaker A.R. Murugadoss.
Antony is being produced by Excel Entertainment — the banner behind several successful mainstream films — in collaboration with A.R. Murugadoss’s production house and veteran producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, bringing together some of Bollywood’s most respected creative forces for the project.
As per reports, the highlight of the new film is the casting of Vijay Varma as the main antagonist, marking his first collaboration with Sunny Deol. Vijay, widely recognised for his versatile and intense performances in films and web series, is expected to bring a compelling villainous presence opposite Sunny Deol’s action persona. Tamil actress Jyotika has also joined the cast in a pivotal role, adding further depth to the star lineup.
The production team has set an ambitious schedule, with principal shooting expected to wrap by July 2026 as part of a larger slate of films Sunny Deol has lined up this year. Following Border 2’s strong showing, Antony is being geared up as another major action entry for the 68-year-old actor, whose career resurgence continues with multiple high-profile releases planned through 2026 and beyond.
