Singer and music composer Arijit Singh has recently announced his retirement from playback singing, leaving his fans in deep shock and heartbroken. In a social media post, the singer announced that he would no longer be accepting any new roles as a playback vocalist.
The singer called his journey as a playback singer "wonderful" and thanked his fans for their everlasting love and support throughout the years.
Following his retirement announcement, multiple rumours have been swirling around social media, and one of them was that he was forced to sing the recent patriotic song from Border 2.
The Reddit post read, "The final straw, according to chatter, was the recent force-fit remake of a patriotic song, something Arijit reportedly wasn't creatively aligned with but was still expected to front."
Several social media users have quickly pointed to Ghar Kab Aaoge, a reenactment of the famous Sandese Aate Hain from the movie Border, which was utilised in Border 2, after a reader on Reddit set it off late on Tuesday night.
Following the rumours, the producer of the movie, Bhushan Kumar, has responded to the speculations.
In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Bhushan Kumar said, “Please call and ask Arijit, it's all rubbish.”
